"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

Might I ask, how is it that you get such clean lines, i'm sorta muddling through by myself and i'm sure there are shortcuts i'm missing and techniques I should be using. Are there any resources you'd recommend to one who aims to create your level of work?
There aren't any shortcuts. Its all about mileage and paying attention to your weaknesses( of course this is after you have learned your fundamentals). If there is a level you are working toward, look at artists that are at that level and study their work. As for other resources, try conceptart.org and cghub's forums. Hope that helps!
